This diptych was originally worked on with the panels swapped with a softer flow from left to right. However, by the end, I found it much more compelling reversed as it made for a more active visual flow. The surface is relatively textured and was built up with many layers with many of the lightest areas having the most paint texture while the sweeping lines were drawn with a fan brush and thinned paint making for a higher contrast.
Each panel is 11 x 14 in and 3/4 in. deep. The edges are finished with gesso and both have had a satin varnish applied. They would look great in a simple cradle frame or hung unframed so as to keep the two pieces more connected.
